How to keep track of your reading in the new year

These insights come from DAP editor Ashley Crantas.

Q: How do you suggest keeping track of your reading? I want to be able to look back at the end of the year and reflect on what I’ve read.

A: I'm a big fan of Goodreads. While I've received physical "Book Tracker" journals, the accessibility and portability of an app is hard to beat. You can use Goodreads to search for or scan barcodes of your latest reads, and at the end of the year, it will create a re-cap of everything you've finished. The social aspect is fun but not overwhelming; you can connect with fellow book nerds, see their reviews, and follow authors to get their updates. There are also discussion boards where people can post questions and theories and get replies. My favorite feature is the ability to create "bookshelves" on your profile; I have mine organized into favorites, a couple genres/"vibes," and then "books that fit in my back pocket," which are novels that are either small enough or have a concise mass market paperback edition that I can tuck into my jeans for when I'm on the go. - Ashley, editor.
